The challenge

A Shopify store with roughly 800 products leaned on paid shopping ads. Its filters created hundreds of near-duplicate URLs, and several category pages competed for the same search.

What we did

We began with a technical audit, then fixed the filter and canonical rules. We rewrote the top category pages around one search each and tidied the product templates in batches, working with the store's developer.

What happened

After nine months, organic revenue was up about 38% on the same period a year earlier. The store removed 412 junk URLs from the index and shifted a larger share of sales onto category pages it owned.

Seasonality and promotions also affect revenue. We compared like-for-like periods.
